Scott A. Amoss, DPM, CWS
A life long resident of New Jersey, Dr. Amoss grew up in Ocean Township on the Jersey Shore. He completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Cook College, Rutgers University. While pursuing his degree, he was asked to join Alpha Zeta, a national Chemistry honor society. After graduation, he worked for several years as a chemist before deciding to pursue a medical career. To achieve this goal, he attended New York College of Podiatric Medicine where he graduated cum laude in 2000 finishing fourth in his class of over one hundred graduates. While at New York College of Podiatric Medicine be received numerous honors including Dean’s List recognition all four years, presidential and other scholarships.
Dr. Amoss completed a two-year surgical residency at William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton, New Jersey. As part of this residency, he received in-depth training in orthopedic, vascular, plastic and reconstructive surgery in addition to performing rotations in internal and emergency medicine, dermatology and radiology. He also was on staff at the South Jersey Wound Care Center, the largest wound facility in South Jersey. Here, diabetic ulcers, non-healing wound and traumatic wounds alike were routinely referred for treatment. As a result of his training, Dr. Amoss is a Certified Wound Specialist. He is currently on staff at Community Medical Center and the Toms River Surgery Center where he performs inpatient and outpatient surgery. He is also a member of the New Jersey Podiatric Medical Society and American Podiatric Medical Association.
